Can anyone give advice on replacing the stock TD04L turbo with a VF30 unit? I do not want to remap etc as I just need a replacement for a blown turbo. Got a good price for a new VF30. I read that it is a direct replacement but a slight upgrade.

Not bothered about inceresed power at all, just want my Scooby back on the road!

 

Hi there try find used TD04(which cost around £60-£80),VF30 without tweak or remap will kill your engine,this is not just for power wise,but for your own safety.

the volumetric effecientcy will change with a bigger turbo, and so it will probably lean it off, hence the need for a remap.
