Default Fitted a Walbro, now car jerks on boost, black smoke. FPR on it's way out?

I've been fitting a few bits ready for a remap with JGM on Thursday. JGM remapped it for me when I had a full decat & Simtek ECU. Since then I've fitted a FMIC, VF34 turbo, 550 injectors & apexi power intake & a new set of PFR7b plugs.

I test drove the car & it seemed to drive quite well with the above mods.

The Walbro arrived so that went in. I test drove it again & now when boosting the car jerks a fair bit & kicks out some black smoke. Is this because my FPR is on it's way out & needs replacing or is it just a case of waiting for JGM to remap it again come Thursday?

Thanks.

Dude, you really shouldnt be driving the car until you have had it remapped for all of the modifications you have done since your last re-map.

for example:

i fitted a new exhaust (from downpipe so just mid section and back box) and i had to have a map tweak for that. up-on taking car for remap to bob rawle we found that the new exhaust was causing the car too underfuel, and boost spike...

bearing in mind that is a very minor modification compared too what you have done!

do not drive it, until you have it mapped... otherwise it'll be bye bye engine...

I only test drove it mate, just to see if I had any leaks ect... The car sits in the garage most of the time & I use my Focus mostly.

I could try that as it seemed fine before the Walbro went in. I still need a Walbro though to go with my other mods. I'll have to order one of these by the looks of things...

So you have fitted larger injectors... and wonder why it's over-fuelling ?

P.S. Maybe your old pump was seriously weak ? ? ?
