Default Incorrectly sold a classic centre pipe!!

Hi,

Ive just bought a centre pipe which I was told was off a newage and would fit my bugeye but..... it looks like it was part of a classic style de-cat and centre pipe combo so is 4" too long!

my question is would it be possible to shorten the pipe on the cat end, re-attach the flange and drop it on the car or are the angles a little sharper? or should I just cut my loses, sell this one and wait for a newage type to pop up in the for sale section?

Thanks,
Andy

it would be easier to sell and buy the right part, but if you have the tools and know how chop the center pipe so the cat is unabused and if you decide to decat in the future that will fit straight on to

Yup, some aftermarket systems are only inteded to be replaced as a complete system; so you can't mix parts of it with other systems: For example the backbox won't fit on to an OE centre or the centre won't fit the OE downpipe etc.

This the risk when buying second hand unless you know the specfics of each aftermarket exhaust model or buy the entire system.

The centre pipe will fit your car you just need the downpipe from a classic shaped impreza, so if your going to decat the car buy a used down pipe from on here and they will be cheaper
