new gearbox now this ....
hi people just had gearbox fitted because i lost 3rd gear, i drove it away from workshop all fine , 2 mile down the road n it felt like my rear wheels where going to fall off, the car viabrated so severely i pulled over n it clonked as i slowed down, went to drive away and it was fine , goes in gear fine no whining just that.. it done it twice so drove it back to the workshop ...but what was that ? i checked gearbox codes n the final diff ratio is the same 4.111 but the only diffrence is its an sti box mine is uk... mine car box originally ty752vn6aa this one ty752vb4aa the gear ratios are diffrent does this make a diffrence help pleaseeeee

hmm but ive checked the diff ratios and they match... the friend i brought the box off has the diff so might just buy that off him too argh more money lol

As above as the centre diff on a UK box is 1:1.1 iirc, so makes the rear dif a 4.111 (combining 3.54 and 1:1.1).
As opposed to a Japanese 1:1 centre dif, that has a real 4.111 rear dif.
Mine did EXACTLY the same thing, had a twitch from the rear and no drive, jacked the rear up and the diff was ok, jacked the passenger front wheel of and was turning with all 3 others on the floor.
You 100% need a matched gearbox and diff, mixing and matching will make it go pop.
Basically either your rear wheels are dragging, or they are trying to overtake the front ones.
NOT GOOD, but you may be lucky if you`ve caught it quickly enough.
