Default Actuator 'nipple'

Hi everyone

Had my car remapped today (already had ecutek license) but needed a tweak for 6th gear and neutral positioning switch.

Anyway, done a nice 300 mile round trip and noticed every time I booted it (especially in 4,5th and 6th low down the rev range) the turbo was really whistling at me - more so than usual! Boost guage and boost controller showed boost handling fine, a little judder or 2 in 6th but no drop in power.

It got progressively worse, so ran the car off boost (or 0.5bar) all the way home.

Having just gone outside to check for disconnected hoses/split pipes etc, I noticed that the hose connected to the acutator nipple appears to be not a snug fit - in fact it's quite clear that it's at an awkward angle and certainly not as clean as it should be.

Would this account for the whistling/screeching noise?

My checklist consisted of:

Downpipe/exhaust seal - appears ok
Seal to TMIC from turbosmart dump valve - nice and snug
Bypass valve - all ok
Various t-pieces etc - all connected and sound.

this was the only thing I could find....or is the bearing showing stress??

Hawk WRX with VF34 turbo, 8 months old, running 367/415.

Cheers
Lee

Could be a leaking uppipe or downpipe.
