Yes to the above plugs, no to the above oil.
Go for millers 10w40 fully synthetic if you want to go that way, it will be at it's best a lot sooner than a 10w60 (very thick oil) and give better flow around the engine, or a 5w40, if your changing the oil for summer then even a 15w50 like motul 300v would suit your car

Ps, I wouldn't run a 60 hot weight in any Subaru unless it's running 600+ bhp

) and what oil were you running when it went pop and was it shortly after a service?Tony
A 10w-50 is ideal for your car if it's driven hard and these are the ones that we stock.

Both are really good oils, absolute top of the range ones, so go with any brand preference you have.
A 10w-40 is a better choice for normal use

The best ones are the Gulf Competition, Motul 300V, Redline and Millers CFS. As a cheaper alternative the Fuchs XTR, Motul 6100 and Millers XSS are good choices.
A 10w-60 is too thick, it just doesn't flow quickly enough.

The oil i was using at the time it went, was pi5hy Halfrauds stuff and it was being mapped at the time. Big end on No. 3 went.
Any time after that, i saw good oil pressure and good temps. No reasons to change oil.
I learned my lesson never to use cheap stuff and go for a heavier oil.
