Default Valve Shims on an Import

Hi All!
So this is my first post. I've taken on (bought) an unfinished engine rebuild and car. The car is in great shape with no rot or dents, the engine is out of the vehicle on a stand. The previous owner had all the bottom end rebuilt with new stock pistons etc and the heads professionally serviced. Anyway, I've taken it off his hands to finish off and use as my daily driver. I'm pretty clued up on this stuff and have rebuilt Chevy V8 motors in the past, of course these motors require a little more finesse to work on lol.

Anyway, I'm refitting the cams and all the buckets and shims are all mixed up. I've been searching through the online 93-96 manuals I can't find any information how how to actually shim the buckets/lifters or what the clearances should be. I've found references to 0,010" and 0,008" for exhaust and intake on UK heads but not sure. Can someone point me in the direction of where to get this information? She's a DOHC, and definitely not Hydraulic lifters.

Engine No: EJ20GD
VIN: GC8
Registered 1995

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Cheers,

So the plot thickens....8 of my buckets are smooth on the underside and 8 have a little protruding dimple.....I thought they were meant to be all the same?? Anyone?

Well, it turns out since I started this thread I should have HLA not shims. I've also got one v1 head with shim over bucket installed and one v3/4 head with shimless buckets installed!! So basically I was in a right mess so I just bough two refurbished heads with HLA lifters and cams which has solved my problem.

You can get shims from main dealer and there is a very helpful scooby specialist in the Cornwall area ( i think) that I found on a google search. They can get all the shims you want.
