I've now had my UK300 for 8 months, and while flicking through the service book I noticed dates for a service every 6 months. Is a 6 month service compulsary or does this depend on what kind of journeys you do? I don't want to risk voiding the warrenty after just 8 months.

Thanks
Steven

i'm in a very similar boat, having owned mine for 5 months - i'm planning to service it every six months, regardless of miles/journey... the reason being that i'm trying to keep it in beyond excellent condition mechanically. my advice would be to book it in as soon as possible..!

also, looking the the second hand sections in autotrader etc. there are so many examples around, that i would always want an uninterrupted, peach-perfect service record

The service intervals are 7.5k miles or 6 months whichever comes first, so you should have 2 services a year. Unless like me you've done 51k in 2.5 years in which case you stop counting, oh and in case your wondering its all personal miles God I love my car...

Ignore the service book, it hasn't been updated for years, instead look in your owners manual, you'll see the correct service schedule in there, it's every year or 7,500 miles not 6 months.

MY01 onwards (WRX) is on the 10,000 miles/12 month service intervals, if you return your service book to your dealer it will get sent back to IM.

Worth making a photocopy of the relevant pages in the service book to ensure that the new one is filled out correctly.
