Default Name the part?

Could someone tell me what the part is called on the back of the head it's some sort of cover/bung that seals a metal pipe that comes off the head it's on the right hand side about half way down if your looking over the engine? Mine seems to be missing just looked at my mates and he's got a silver cover on his with some silicone hose? What's this bit called and what's it do? Thanks for your help

is it a phase 1.5 engine ie 97-98 with the coil pack in the centre of the inlet, it sounds like a bung for the recirc dv, i'm assuming your mate has an aftermarket dv & you have a standard recirc btw dv is dump valve

Is that not the connection for the OEM DV's recirc hose?

If so, seeing as your running a VTA DV, then that needs plugging.

Without it plugged, the turbo intake hose will be sucking in unmetered air (i.e. after the MAF), so resulting in higher than normal (leaned out) AFRs. Ergo, the ECU won't "know" about the extra air, so can't add fuel for it to compensate - not good!

Stick a tape measure down and measure it.

You'll need a rubber/silicone pipe to join it also.

Assuming it's the same size as the Phase 1.5, then the external diameter of the pipe is 25mm.

God I've got some crap in the shed.
