When you say socket screws, I assume you mean ones you can remove/fit with an Allen, (hex), key? Or Torx screws: they have like a star shape in them?

Secondly, the sizes: 10 and 12mm CAN refer to the size of the allen key needed to remove, or the threads, (M10, M12), but since yours came out of a spoiler and M10 is pretty big, never mind M12, I assume you mean thread length? FYI, thread length is from UNDER the head to the start of the screw.

Depending what you want, Screwfix do these in both Stainless and High Tensile steel. http://www.screwfix.com/search.do;js...hbutton=submit

Alternatively, if you only want a few, go to www.yell.com, bolt and nut stockists, find one near you and go in and ask.

Or there are specialist dealers all over the net, even on e-bay who will supply as little as one bolt, although P&P is dear!

Oh, and stainless: sorry if you already knew this, but don't use stainless in very high tensile aplications, (caliper bolts, manifold bolts etc), as it will shear. Having said that, I'm slowly but surely replacing lots of my rusty screws with stainless. Try polishing the heads with wet-or-dry, then brasso or similar, with the screw thread in a drill. They can be got to mirror finish

thanks for the reply mate. This is a link (having difficulty getting an image uploaded) of what i am looking for.
http://componentparts.co.uk/Flange%20Bolt.htm

They seem to be quite expensive from the few sites in the UK that do them about £ 1 a bolt. I am suprised local stores (toolstation etc) dont do them as they should be very common in cars. I know i got them in my55 sti.

You say you are replacing your rusting screws as well , which ones are you using if not these ?

Any idea on where to get them cheap?

Any I find like that get replaced with a stainless bolt and a washer, or a bolt and a penny washer, also stainless.
The flange is only there to spread the load, so a washer does just as well.

Cheap? Depends how many you want. When I replaced all mine on my side skirts, I asked at the local bolt and nut stockist and he sold me a couple of dozen stainless roofing bolts which were all but the same, cost me £2 the lot.

Screwfix range from just over £1 a bag of ten for bolts and £3 a bag of 100 washers, to £6 or so for larger sizes, larger bags.

Buy from a manufacturer, and the UNIT price isn't bad, the postage charges make up for it.

I used the last of those three, very helpful, order arrived next day.
