Default Re-mapping 07 WRX PPP

Hi,
I have a 07 WRX with the PPP fitted and Green Cotton air filter running on V-power. I recently had this tested and got 258BHP flywheel and 199 wheels. BUT the tech indicated that the Air fuel Ratio went less than 10:1 on mid to high revs.
This indicated tha the std PPP mapping is not ideal for my car. So the question is if I get a remap only, will the car safely/reliably get 280BHP (limit of insurance cover ie std +25%)

Many thanks

Yeah you should get 280 with remap! Is it decatted or sports cat? Mine was running about that with a decat and panel filter an remapped by race dynamix.

Mine is a 2006 wrx.

the exhaust is a Std PPP, single cat if I remember correctly. I was not looking to do anything with the exhaust, as the Missus "says it is too loud as is". .....
I am quite happy with the car, but can always be happier..

Yeah I was happy aswel, now I'm on second remap with vf43 and sti tmic.

I'm not sure what exhaust the ppp is so can't comment on that but would think you wouldn't be far off 280 ish!

Hopefully someone with better knowledge will help you out.

Better to run richer as you do and be safe than lean and risk damaging the engine.
I don't see a problem with 10:1

Give Duncan at Race Dynamix a call. He has done a great job with my 06WRX, nice safe map which has transformed the car into what it should have been out of the factory.

as above the usual on a gd map is 280-290 max on the standard td-04,

u will be able to get the original ecu remapped so should cost anything from 250-450 depending on what mapper it goes to ,

my07 wrx is running 355bhp,make sure u get lauch control as well,

Yeah the flat throttle shifting is good, keeps the boost up while changing! Never used the launch control to scared of wrecking something. But clutch is slipping on the car now with the last remap. So maybe try it before the new clutch goes in. Haha

Tom - you got to have it. Massive difference when you are changing up. More useful day to day (if you know what I mean) than launch.

It's surprisingly easy once you get used to having it.

The launch control is great to - just scared of my clutch but at this time of year doesn't matter that much with the slippery roads :-)

Unfortunately 10:1 AFR was the bottom of the graph and so the actual AFR was lower than 10:1, hence my thinking about the re-map. (Thats my excuse anyway)

Thanks for all the advice

Get Duncan to map it mate, he gets great results with Hawkeye's

Just an after thought, do you get an uprated fuel pump with the PPP, might be worth getting one before mapping if not.

Get a Walbro 255 fuel pump, sport cat or better still, full decat and then remap.. Your car will be transformed compared to PPP....

Nope the PPP, is a Stainless Exhaust, replacement ECU and Turbo Hose. I have read in a few places that uprated fuel pumps not really needed until you start getting into the serious 300+ BHP regions.
