Default remapping

Hi everyone.
Just asking for peoples opinions on mapping or not to map.
I have a subaru forester sti 2005 with a 2.75 stainless exhaust and a green cotton panel filter.
I`ve seen a few threads which suggest a remap would be needed and others that say leave it as it is.The exhaust does pop which i`ve been told is unburnt fuel so maybe the car needs to be adjusted to the new mods?
Any opinions will be greatly received.
Andy.

Hi Any if you have full decated exhaust including downpipe, you will need remap for better power(BHP) and for safe reasons, about the Green cotton filter, you don't need for this remap. If you have fitted just catback(center pipe and Backbox),you don't need remap.
For remap you can contact here several mappers, depends on your budget...
For Opens Source you will pay from £300-£350 this remap do here Slowboy Racing,Duncan@RaceDynamix or Rich@FB Tuning.
For EcuTek you will pay from £550 and this remap do Simon@JGM,Martin J@Engine Tuner,Bob Rawle or Andy F...

Hope this help, and welcome to SN,enjoy staying here

Hi Jura.
Thanks for the info.
The exhaust is a Cat Back so i wont need to have a remap straight away then. I suppose it would only be worth doing one if i felt the need to up the BHP for extra performance at a later date.
By the way Jura, what is the difference between open source and Ecutek?
Cheers Andy.

Hi Andy if you later fit decated downpipe or Sport Cat,definitely go for remap, due safe reason and if will be hungry for more power.

With Ecutek you pay for a licence, hence the bigger price. I have had both and there is no difference in the way the car performs. I went open source with Zen.
