Default Changing rear shocks DIY

I have a 97 UK Turbo Classic and need to change rear shocks.

Can I do this without a spring compressor without decapitating myself either?

Thanks

I'm not sure but i'm guessing no?

You can pick up hand held spring compressors that are cheap and will work i think.

Take the complete unit out and then put the copressors on.

Thanks

ClintUK, where are you based mate? If anywhere near to Bedford, I can do it for you FREE of charge :-) I needed spring compressors when I was changing shocks on mine V2 Sti, so guessing you'll need these as well. You can get them from Hallfords for less than £30 so not really expensive. It takes about 40 minutes per wheel, well easy :-)

If its standard springs and struts then you will need to compress the springs, if coilovers then you can winde the tension of the springs with the bottom spring seat adjuster but I suspect you mean standard struts.

Nice 1! I would always help a fellow scooby owner out, but with my limited knowledge i would probably do more harm than good lol!
