Default Handling upgrades for hawkeye wrx?

Hi all,

Just need some advice on whiteline arb's?

Is it worth doing? The car is a 2006 wrx, and I just feel it could do with something just to sharpen it up on the road!

I don't have the funds for suspension and spring replacements, so wondered how much difference and what ones would be the best for the car. It's not tracked just road driven. Also where is the best place to buy them from?

Any help and advice is much appreciated!

Thanks

Doug

I have done some bits to mine and it sticks like glue now and goes round any corner I throw it into.

I did the following -

Whiteline Anti lift kit

Whiteline Rear 24mm ARB

Whiteline rear drop links

Tein lowering springs

Same car as you.

I found that the prices went up and down a fair bit from some places but got most of my bits from Ebay.

I would just get them from wherever they were cheapest as it will be the same bits you get. Ebay sometimes is good, some of the big companies advertise on there with a good discount I find.

Definitely look into the anti lift kit as well. Increases castor which gives sharper turn in, better front end bite and better straight line stability.

I looked into it a bit and decided it was right for me, read up on them a bit. You might think that a 22mm might suit you better. For me I am glad I got the 24mm, can handles superb now, a real treat to drive.

IMO forget the ARB's and just do whiteline front adjustable top mounts, whiteline ALK and a good geometry set-up. Great set-up for road use and then if you want more, you can look at ARB's, but I would suggest they are not needed if you don't intend doing track stuff.

I have done various write-ups on this stuff in my project thread- -> https://www.scoobynet.com/846290-sta...hawkeye-9.html

That's a good read thanks! Also another thing to think about I need to read up a bit more on this I think and see what is going to be best for me. As the car is a daily driver and my wife drives it also so don't want anything that's going to be to harsh for her either.

Just look at increasing castor then imo. Provides better straight line and cornering stability, whilst providing dynamic camber when you really need it.... when turning.

ARB's are a knee jerk mod for many, as so many people change them.... so it must be the thing to do then. Don't get me wrong.... ARB's can make a big difference to a car's dynamics. It's just that some of those changes in dynamics are not always suited to an every day road car for some people.

Rear ARB worked for me as a good starting point on my WRX,

If you have more cash to spend then:Front 24 and rear 24, Prodrive springs and whiteline ALK makes a very good road car (still happy with this setup with close to 500Bhp)
