Default Would like to see how much interest there would be on a Ecutek mapping group buy

As above, please add your names to the list, gauging how many people are considering a remap sometime soon

Thx

I know there is a group buy section, thanks for that but..

I believe you need to adhere to certain rules, as in having an arranged price with somebody and some prices to list with different discounts based on numbers etc...

This is gauging interest before that next step

The criteria for such, is that they are based around a discounted price for a certain item(s) subject to an agreed amount of people participating. Obviously this can be staggered, for example if 5 people join the price is £x, if 10 people join it is £x(less than for only 5) and so on.

The Group Buy must include the prices, and list of how many people are needed for it to go ahead (Min 5). And once organised, it must contain a list of those members participating.

What this section is NOT for, is for anyone, trader or otherwise, just to post up adverts for various available parts. There are applicable sections for this,
Trader Announcements for traders to post.
Private For Sale for non trading members.

The normal price is usually £650 + vat. Previous prices on a group buy where about £400 + vat, hence why I'd like to get one going...

£400 is wishful thinking - was that a recent one?
AndyF was doing one last April for £470 + VAT.

Less the licence fee only leaves IRO £200 to do a quality piece of work on what can be PITA jobs.

But that's 14 months ago

I'd contact some Ecutek mappers first for a price before saying you'll do a GB @ £400.

Knew I shouldn't I'd mentioned a bloody price, look I only had that price of information to base a rough guesstimate for the price, I don't have a definite price or I works newer posting this in the group but section...
If there is enough interest I will discuss this with the mappers and see what can be agreed, but until I know there's an interest it's pointless discussing prices

If I can give you some words of advice about running a group buy from my experience with one that I ran with Bob Rawle.

1. Try to get a few people in your own locality interested first as this will start the ball rolling and then you can approach your designated mapper with some start numbers and work out some costs from there. When I organised the group buy with Bob I already had 8 members on board so it was far easier to roll out to the rest of Scoobynet.

2. I would offer a group buy on all types of mapping carried out by the mapper ie Ecutek, Simtek, Solaris, Apexi, Autronics and Motec don't just limit yourself to Ecutek.

3. In the case of Bob Rawle all the mapping was carried out in the Swindon area as there is a good stretch of dual carriageway plus it also means no travelling charges (except their own) for the members taking part. Some mappers will waive the travelling charges if enough mapping sessions can be carried out on the same day.

4. When the group buy was up and running the members contacted Bob directly to confirm and book this meant that a third party (me that is) was not getting involved from that point but it did mean that there were no third party messups as often happens, the more cooks the more chance of the cake burning so to speak.

At the end of the group buy we had 30+ members who had their cars remapped by Bob, the bulk were Ecutek but some others had their aftermarket ECU's remapped as well.

I hope that all goes well and if you need any help then please PM me.

Seems little to no interest anyway which I'm very surprised about considering the number of remap topics I have seen...

At first how many people will travel for remap, that's the question, because 250 miles travel for just remap is little bit too far,and second question how much will cost at total people(Remap at least £400 and cost for petrol from London or from Kent).

So many people due this rather considering mobile mappers Open source or EcuTek mappers which will travel to you,not you must travel for remap.

And there is no reason we can't arrange a group buy with a mobile mapper is there? Did anyone discuss a location or did I miss it?

Still this will be cheaper for people when considering Mobile Mapper, but good idea with many holes...
At first consider location and aprox.cost(lowest and highest),not starting Group Buy with so many questions and too many answers, which you don't know answer at moment.

Rrp is £550+vat I include travel within reason or free dyno time at surrey rr, subaru4you etc.

I maybe interested in doing a group buy with furthet discount (havent for a long while) if organised into a couple of cars in same ares or if coming the dyno etc

Just for an idea how many maps are you usually able to complete in one visit, on average obviously
