Default 98 classic wont start???

Hey all
So where would you start ??
I Have tried to turn the car over on the crank using a spanner, and it wouldn't move, where can I start to investigate any help would be appreciated

Your saying it wouldn't turn over at all They are normally quite easy to turn over by hand

that's correct wont turn over by hand used a ring spanner with a bar on just doesn't want to move.

sounds like an internal issue if you cant turn it by hand

Has it been sat not used for a while or just all of a sudden gone like it?

If it's that solid then it sounds as though it's seized.

take the belt off and try turning by hand might have sticky vales or cams locking

It has been sat for a while could the starter jammed???
Take the actual cambelt off then try and turn ??

Yes, as above, starter unlikley. IF you can get it to turn without the cambelt, do NOT go far turning it, the pistons can still make contact with valves.

THEN you have to correctly refit the cambelt and try and find out if it STILL turns. If it doesn't...........engine out and strip it.
There IS oil in, isn't there?

Remove the plugs and re try and crank over by hand, that should free it up having less compression.
That could do it.
Could be a number of reasons its not turning.

jimbobs right might have developed hydralic lock if the head gaskets leaking internally,spark plugs out and retry

Mine was hydro locked as the injector seals were duff, so when ignition went on the fuel pump primed the cylinder full of super unleaded.
So come to start she was having none of it lol.
