Default having issues with my subaru 1995 jap import

hi recently took my subaru to garage before i took it in was running fine turbo was ok everythin fine, it went in for full service cam belt and brakes and pads, there was issues with them fitting cam belt and got it back yesterday the car felt really sluggish and turbo was really jerky and this mornin car wouldnt start just wonderin if anyone had any ideas what might be wrong with it any ideas or opinions would be much appreciated

If it was running ok before you took it in and
with you just having the belt done it may be a tooth out

ok but it was running last night but not very well so is that the only thing that it could be that the belts a tooth out

it just seems strange that the car was running ok before the belt was done but it may be a coincidence

passenger side pulleys slipped when they let the tensioner go back on the slack belt , passenger side will be 1/2 a tooth out bacause they didnr clamp the pulleys when letting tensioner back on to the belt

Hi there back at garage today and it's managed to slip round about 10 teeth and the tensioner was fine not sure how this has happened any help appreciated

Hi there did a compression test today was fine but the belt had managed to slip about 10 teeth but not sure how as the tensioner was working and has not gone, also when changing cam belt is there any special tools needed or an easy way to do it

on doing my own cambelt the passenger pulleys have tension when you align them, the garage who done it probs didnt notice it spring back round when finalizing the fitment of the belt/releasing the tensioner.
always use a clamp to hold it in place when you get these two pulleys aligned!!

Take it to a garage that are familiar with Scoobs. Not everyone knows the "Dark Art".

Also advisable to buy a full service kit with new rollers and tensioner. As you have discovered.
