Default Car not starting right

My brother has bought a 2000 turbo, and the guy we bought it off said it starts on second time round. and it is coolant sensor, so we have replaced this now, and when cold takes about ten times, and when warn on second time round.
When we replaced the sensor we reset the ecu to be on the safe side.

Any ideas what else it can be.

Thanks

Yep, nothing at all, should have put that up. Strange one this. Even when did ecu reset before sensor change nothing popped up.

At a lose end, as he is new to scoobs and not really putting it in a good light, ha

cam and crank sensors cause starting problems. do you have a mates car you can swap them with. do you mean you checked for codes before and after changing the sensor change.

Well to be honest, the kiddie is on another forum, and yes when he meantioned it, I did think here we go, but he took £100 so we can get sensor, and to be honest start on second time round didnt seem that bad, until it was morning and cold.

DJ, yeah checked before and after, but nothing came up. And yes I have exactly the same car as him, can can swap over sensors.

Sweet as a nut to be honest, boosts as it should, idles as it should, runs as it should, just the flipping start up problem.

May be worth checking the plugs. NGK PFR6B's gapped any where from 0.65 to 0.70mm. Although they should all be gapped to the same tolerance.

If the plugs are colder rated, ie 7's or 8's, and/or are gapped in excess of 0.70mm then i would expect cold start issues. Then once they have warmed up i would expect the issued to subside but not totally vanish.
