Follow the top hose back and the sensor is located at the front of the coolant cross over housing

There are two, on the front face of the block under the alternator, facing forwards.

The one with a single wire is the gauge, the one with TWO wires is for the ecu.

This is the arrangement on the earlier Scoobies. I have a RB5 (MY99) and it has a single unit with three wires.

Thanks all for the advise, sorted now. Phill

Up to and including Version 4 they have 2 sensors but changed on Version 5 (uk'99) onwards to the Grey 3 pin sensor.

Yes Grey 3 Pin sensor for UK'99 onwards unless you have an earlier engine fitted to the car.
