shocking knocking!!!

Default shocking knocking!!!

hi all what else other than shocks and top mount can cause bad knocking from the rear (v4 type r v ltd).

Drop link bushes.

Mine has a knock too but mine I think is deffo top mounts or shockers.

diff outrigger bushes or the metal bracket that bolts too the chassis that holds these bushes could be bent up on the lip.

that is what was causing my knock, but i learnt the expensive way... replaced shockers, droplinks and arb only too find that i must of jacked the car up under this bracket and bent the lip up! doh!

is the noise when you change gear sometimes, when you pull away and whenever you go over bumps?

the noise only happens when I hit a bump on the offside rear and is loud!!!

Did your knocking get worse or was it fairly constant from the outset?

if its in time with wheel speed, your driveshaft UJ is on its way out.
only sayin this as i just left half of my UJ in the road after the joint exploded !!

Is your spare wheel well properly fitted. The jack handle can clunk against the boot floor if not properly fitted.
