Default do i nead to remap?

Hi,
i have a 2002 wrx which is currently standard.

I have a prodrive back box, prodrive secondary decat pipe, and prodrive sportscat pipe...

if i put them on do i need a remap or will the standard ecu and map be ok?

thanks

Yes to be safe - you'll be making a noticeable improvement to the airflow

The decat and sports cat will reduce resistance of the exhaust and could cause the engine to potentially run lean as a higher boost level than normal could be achieved and cause a detonation and failure of the bottom end of the engine. Most cars will be fine, some could/might fail, if you want to safe but want a bit more noise just add the prodrive back box and then get the other bits added and then get a remap asap.

It shouldnt be overboosting too much at the moment but to really get your moneys worth out of the mods you have done, then I would recommend remapping it along with fitting a 3 port solenoid.

I'd be happy to come out to you to remap the car to suit your exhaust mods.

As Duncan suggests above, a 3 port boost solenoid would be a worthwhile mod. I have Prodrive solenoids in stock.

TBH the only way you will notice an improvement will be a re-map...........an open source one will suffice.

Without a re-map All the ECU will do is compensate for the airflow and tootle along it's merry way at around the factory 215PS with a little earlier spool and a different noise.
