What are these and should they be connected?
Hey all,
I have a MY95 wrx, currently off the road while I do some work on the car. I am fairly new to imprezas (and wish they did a haynes manual) and basically teaching myself.
Anyyway I have taken my air box out while I clean the engine and I have found two items which are NOT connected. Can anyone tell me what they are and should they be connected?
This is the first - I believe it is connected to the boost solonoid at the bottom
and this is the seconds, its pretty much in the same area
I do have a boost guage fitted it this has any baring on it!
Any help would be greatly appricated. I had been running the car prior to finding these two items.

Pic 1 looks like the vent from the BCS. It looks like it has snapped off the airbox, unless thats the restrictor pill poking out the bottom?
Cant help with pic 2, maybe try taking some better pics.

Yeah, pic 1 defo BCS bleed off pipe. As said should go to airbox resonator but has snapped off. It is ok to leave it to VTA. It is however, more important you bung the hole that has been left (on the blind side of the res box) as you will be drawing in un-metered and un-filtered air. If you get a brass barb from the plumb center or alike it's an easy fix.
Pic 2 looks like the Cat On Fire plug (EGT). If you have a decat then the sensor will have been removed. No issues.

It's hidden away down near the bottom of the left hand side of the resonator box, you'll need to remove the box to see it.
They are very easy to break as I once discovered
