Right then guy's, Bloody Impreza's.
Went to the coast yesterday for something to do, on the way back loud screech from under the bonnet and smoke pouring out, loads of dash lights on, no power steering!!!, Fooookk!!!!.
Pulled the bonnet and the power steering belt had snapped and caught between the pulleys, hence the smoke!!!
Stranded in the middle of nowhere, could not drive without lights as pitch black!!, got going for another 27miles until no lights etc. ( Power steering belt is also alternator belt )
I'm back home now.
The reason for the trouble the power steering pump has a tight spot, knackered bearing by the feel of it.
Question being, how much to fix?, can it be re-conditioned?, second hand or new, and how much to do job lot?
I'm in Nottingham, anybody can fix it for me?
06 reg Blobeye wrx sti, 16,000miles.
Any info much appreciated.

Cure blimey not many mile for it to go like that. I have 135000 on my classic and power steering is fine.

Might be worth a call to Subaru and get some advise.
