Default Reverse intake manifold without moving alternator?

Been watching a few vids etc, and there seem to be some people who arent relocating their alternator- they seem to run the intake over the top of the alternator?

Not sure if this is on newage only- I have a 98 but keen to do this very shortly.

Thats what I thought- check this though:

I cant imagine the engine is running lower on its mounts.

Any suggestions as to where I can buy a tensioner?

Any suggestions as to where to source a tensioner? The rest seems achievable, in that I think I have to:

- Relocate coolant reservoir
- Get throttle body rewelded to other side
- extend wires
- cut holes and replumb intercooler

Just like that!

IC wise I was hoping to flip mine, and essentially reverse the flow i.e. have the turbo flowing through what is currently the outlet into the IC, and then running what is currently the inlet up to the TB.

This will still leave me with horizontal outlets, but need to have a look and see how it measures up- have a few days off so will have a play.

sounds good, the only hard bit id say is relocating the t/b. what version is your inlet chap?

I didn't want to reverse the inlet, but wanted a shorter pipe run than the fmic kits come with...
so I brought a Hybrid core and fllipped it and did my own pipework, running the boost clockwise...I also opted for 50mm OD tubing, figuring as volume is cubic this would mean less to fill....I haven't encountered any additional lag over my sti8 tmic with this set up, it seems to work really well, I'll know more when it gets mapped shortly.

Imho, you will need manifold spacers to allow the throttle body to clear the boost pipe if running like this...mine only just did with them, and my pipe OD is only 50mm.

The battery, washer bottle and horn did have to move also.

Thats pretty cool as well!

I have a UK98, which is a version 1.5 manifold or something like that, or V4 inlet. Too many numbers lol

Would it be possible to retain the A/C on a classic if you fit a smaller alternator? Something like this.

It's a large RCM K&N cone with spun inlet trumpet...It fits, just, in the conventional position, but I've straightened the silicone joiner so it now points the cone into a cutout I've made in the inner wing.
