Clutch not always disengaging?
I've had a Exedy Twin Plate on my car for about 6 months now, and it was always fine.
Where I park my car is on a steep bank, and I reverse tight against a wall. Now that's a bit of a task itself with a twin plate....but recently when I press the clutch pedal in, and release the accelerator, the revs go really low....down to 100-200rpm. Sometimes the revs pick back up, but most the time it stalls.
Any idea why this happens? It's only when I reverse up-hill to park.
Cheers

Maybe a leak-down issue in the hydraulics?
I guess if you are reversing up a steep hill may take some time whilst slipping the clutch, which if the slave/master cylinder is leaking internally will cause the clutch to slowely re-engage more and more.
Hard to explain how to test for it, but with the car stationary and idling. Put the clutch in, and place in in gear. It should slot straight in.
Now, put it back into neutral, and keep holding the clutch pressed to the floor for a over a minute. Then without moving the pedal try putting it back into gear, if it refuses to go in, or crunches/grinds then you have a hydraulic issue.
Otherwise, I'm not sure what is going on. When was the clutch fluid last changed and bled?

Cheers, will try that.
To be honest don't have a clue when the fluid was changed?! It maybe never has been? Would the fluid cause issues like that?
Thanks

Ok, thanks for that. I will look at getting my fluid changed anyway as I'll have piece of mind then.
Would a garage be able to 'see' if the slave/master cylinder is leaking internally?
Could it be something mechanical with the actually clutch you think?

My Exedy twin plate does something similar making it difficult to get the car out of reverse, again it only does it when reversing uphill.
I find that if I have been doing a lot of town driving giving the car a bit of a launch improves things a lot.

Yeah, it also doesn't allow be to de-select reverse sometimes, and the only way I can do it is to switch the ignition off (again, only reversing uphill).
It didn't use to do it which is the strange thing.....
