Hi folks,

car is a 2003 wrx,
slightly modified with sports cat removed 2nd cat and resonator pipe to a vortex back box,green panel filter and standard bov.

on my way home tonight the car was running fine toddling along in town traffic, went round a roundabout then all of a sudden started to missfire. got into a layby and there is a tick tick ticking noise on the passenger side of the engine. the car definatly sound like it is running on 3 cyls. there is no smoke from the exhaust just the ticking noise and the unballanced engine.
could this be a faulty coil pack ?

and ideas would be appreciated

have you done any work recently ,
oil change?
plugs?

any cel light?
