Default What mileage do you get to a tenners worth of fuel?

Im just curious here so want to see a few results:

Nobody really understands the mpg boll**ks so how far does your scooby go on a tenners worth of fuel?

Just used my first £40 worth since i bought the car and i did 188 miles.

45.5 miles to a tenner or thereabouts.

Is that good or bad? I was expecting much worse. I drive sensibly most of the time but cant deny i have not booted it occasionally. I drive a 94 wrx sti import.

It costs me £60 to fill from almost empty line and it does between 200 and 220 miles on that, so roughly 35 miles to a tenner in mine.

i dont put tenners in anymore, cos it would only get me to the end of the street.then i'd have to turn round and put some more in.my petrol flap should have a sign saying £20 minimum spend on it.

Have to agree with Tony here. Only what, £3 difference per full tank? Would never run a classic STi on anything less than super esp in this cold weather.

Refreshing to see that nobody (yet ) has come out with that great original line 'if you have to ask mpg, you can't afford to run an Impreza'. That really bugs me..................waits with baited breath

I fill up at just below the quarter which seems to be the advice on here. It costs me between £55.00 and £65.00 depending on exactly what's left and the price of V-Power which round here can be as much as 130.8 or as little as 126.5 within 2 miles............

Out of that full tank I've gotten approximately 300 miles on the motorway, in fact 1.5 tanks got me 510 miles. However if I drive on boost then it drops right down.......... I think I got just under 40 miles to £18.00 the other week.

I had to put in regular Shell the other week, granted it was only £28 to top up the tank and then it was diluted a few days later but I swear the car didn't run as well.

Placebo effect?

Can't understand how everybody gets 15-20 mpg are these all cars running big power 450+. I imported a 98 sti 2 year ago and it was standard and i was getting 30mpg just runnin under 300hp. After a few power mods (20g nismo 740s)the car runs 365 on v-power and still returns22-25mpg and on the 2nd map v-power and 25% meth 19-22, obviously the meth map flows alot more fuel so i expected it to be 20mpg.

Why are scoobys and evos so terrible on fuel?
My type-r and the wifes evo barely get more than 200 miles out of a tank, admittedly the evo has a small tank (45litres I think)

Is it the drag of the 4wd?

My old 350bhp s14a 200sx used to get 300-350miles at a push and I used to complain at that!! Lol

Think awd is not the best as you have higher loss through the transmission, but the real culprit (I think) is that the engines run very rich by design. This is a 'safety' measure to reduce risk of damage to the engine by detonation.

I guess peoplre tend to be less fleeting of (right) foot also .

Think biggest variable can be motorway vs town centre driving?

Does sound a bit on the low side. Need more info...............has it always been like it, has it had any work (modifications) carried out, model, motorway/city driving etc.
