Default Not always turning on first time...

Hi I own a blobeye STI and sometimes when turning the key it will slightly struggle to turn on, or it will and then turn off again. I've got round this just by giving the accelerator a little boot as I turn the key and it's fine every time! At first I thought it might just be the cold weather but it's done it even on decent days...

Just wondering if it could be a sign something's on its way out even if it's just the battery or something?

Do you let the fuel pump fully prime before going to the crank position with the key?
