Default Dog box ratios

Hi guys,

I am in the process of changing my ver 3 STI type R gearbox for a PPG dog box in my rally car which is under development. As everyone knows the STI type R/ type RA gear ratios are really close and the result is fantastic acceleration throughout the gears.

The type R ratios are:
3.083
2.062
1.545
1.151
0.825

I am told that the dog box ratios are the standard STI ratios:
3.166
1.882
1.296
0.972
0.738

Will i lose that manic acceleration from the type R box if i fit the dog box? And if so, is there a way to maintain the type R ratios in the dog box? I am running a R180 rear diff with 4.44 final drive.

Thanks,
Imran
