Well, I am stuck.

I have not been able to find out what the Gear **** thread size is, so I'll ask again, in the hope somebody does....

does any body know for sure what the size is, UK MY00 Impreza.

I'll reply again......definite info this time.....

It's a 12mm thread with a pitch of 1.25mm, same as your wheel nuts.....

Metric threads can come in various pitches.

No probs HB.
Threads such as Imperial,gas etc are usually all straightforward but there is that many different types of metric thread available that it is easy to think it may be something else like UNF / BA etc.

I have just been quoted 30 UKP inc VAT for a Carbon 1" 5/16 12x1.25 die!

Can you believe it!

any ideas where I might be able toget one?

May be a daft quesiton , i have just orderd a STI gear **** for early model impreza. Does the old gear **** simply unscrew or do you have to take off the rubber boot ?

Assuming all years fit the same way, you unscrew the gearknob from the lever and prise the gaitor off of the gearknob
