I achived 283bhp 275lbft with my old bugeye wrx with the following mods full decat Milltek from turbo back, NGK 7b plugs, 255 walbro fuel pump & k&n panel fillter with an Andy F remap.
But after fitting sti injectors, sti up pipe, sti tmic & undertray, air induction delete elbow & sti VF34 turbo & another remap by Andy F the figures where 340bhp & 340lbft.

Hi matey standard Bugeye WRX mods are:VF34-VF35(or if you find genuine TD05-16G which make same power like VF-35 330-340BHP),STi pink injectors,STi V7/V8 TMIC,Walbro Fuel pump,decent panel filter(K&N or Green Cotton Panel Filter are very popular and very recommended),Decated Uppipe(decated full exhaust or with sport cat) and after these mods you will see around 330-340BHP.
TD04 will run off power around 270-280BHP(but some get around 304BHP which is domain of TD04H from AFP)

Unless going for it "big style" there's no reason why fuel consumption should suffer, after it's first map by Richard Bulmer mine was more economical...
