I would put EGT probe after turbo but as close too exhaust housing as poss.(that way if tip falls opff it won,t go thru turbo).

Max temp depends on turbo, but we usually aim to keep below 875 C.Have run a VF34 at 900C but turbo performance then starts to suffer. I can safely say that at 1100C the back of the turbo falls off!!

I bought a td05-20g but waiting for a few more parts to arrive. turbo is not fitted yet. Would anti lag put stress on turbo etc even if i turned it off at a safe enough temp?

Do you mean fit the sensor near the top of decat downpipe?

If you turn off at "safe temp" then turbo life should not be compromised. Yes; fit sensor at top of down pipe. What ECU are you running?

Its a good choice alright thanks for the help

I presumed that the sensor should be fitted on the manifold because its the hottest part compared to the rest of exhaust setup?

I will fit it to the downpipe

Mark

Yes; it would read hotter in the up pipe but as long as you know the "offset" then it is safer in the down pipe; we always run them there on the rally cars.

By offset I meant the temperature difference between the two positions - sorry - didn't make that clear! Just mount on top of the downpipe just say 50mm away from back of turbo.
