Thumbs up 96 WRX safe boost?

just wondering what people consider to be 'safe' boost on there cars... wont be touching boost until the front mount goes on but wana no what is a safe steady boost pressure? thnx agaiiiiin lol been loads of help up to now

you will get so many different answers to this bud but the truth is how big r ya ***** cos that what it boils down too i mean up until saturday i was running 1.1 bar with no probs now ive got my simtek fitted im upto 1.45 bar with no issues but u just need to remember more boost requires more fuel so boost away but get it checked with wideband afr to be safe and happy boosting,

lol thnx m8... im thinkin 1.1bar sounds good... on my mx5 i was running 1.1 bar aswell and seemed to stay reliable... thanks again m8 tyler

1.1 bar is about the limit on a standard bottom end. It will definately take more but the extra boost puts more strain on the big ends which can end up expensive!!

youve aslo got to concider if the engine is tired. has it had a hard life with services missed? or has it been to the shops at the weekend and well serviced?
its 14 now.

its 95k (miles) was bought off a mechanic who was a scooby fenatic!! had and RA in his garden and another wrx in his garage lol... i think its been well serviced... sounds nice... no knocks etc.. reciepts for cambelt in april... i dno if i wana risk it lol

not quite at that stage yet lol.... i only bought it last week... as far as i can see... its got full decat straight through from turbo, a td05 turbo, and a few other bits and bobs... its been in scooby clinic for something but i cant work out wot lol

As above, you must ensure it is done correctly. But yes, they seem to take a little more than standard. My MY93 WRX is at 1.2bar. Enjoy.

It all depends on your supporting mods. My sister's 95 WRX is running just over 1.5 bar on a standard engine & turbo but it has 440cc injectors, Z32, power FC & AVCR, FMIC etc it's been mapped for that.

I've lost count of how many times it's been mapped and how many hours Rich has spent mapping it and tweaking it
