The standard items are not cross drilled or grooved, I would avoid drilled discs, more for show than anything, they can crack under useage due to hairline fractures caused by the drilling, heat expansion and contraction.
Grooved are all you need really
Dont decat without mapping, that will blow your engine up but would stick with the basics, try and find a ppp sports cat, then remap from there, depends on what power you want and what the car already has?

thanks for your advice much apreciated, the discs are not grooved but are brand new, just felt the brakes are a bit crap when they get hot!!
how can i tell aswell if its got the ppp pack on it because it hasnt got the certificate?? The guy said it had it, its got a prodrive end can and it goes like stink but is there anythin i can look for to be certain?

Phone Subaru UK with the chassis number and they will tell you if it has (or had) PPP fitted. Simple Remap (panel filter optional) will see you at about 340 bhp and similar lbft torque. PPP will be about 290-300 bhp, similar lbft.

If you want to go buy a new age STI and run a decat without mapping, help yourself but the engines cost a fortune to rebuild

As stated above , the standard discs are plain , I would steer away from drilled discs as they are too unreliable and can crack , grooved discs are all thats needed to improve them , if you have new discs and pads recently fitted , if they fitted standard parts then the pads will not be up to the job when driving hard , so you could just fit a good performance pad such as these here https://www.scoobynet.com/trader-ann...-calipers.html
If you want to make it better again you could fit grooved discs , the pad change alone would give you the biggest increase in braking power now though
