Default Heater Box and Overheating

I've had to re-route the hose that takes water into the heater box as the water coming out of there wasnt heating up (even though my blowers were working???) and the car was over heating.

So now that i've by passed the heater box all is well... except now, obviously, my blowers now dont blow hot air!

Whats the problem here? Problem with a valve in the heater box? Wiring problem? Any ideas?

The way I understand it, the water which is used to cool the engine, is also used to heat the interior.

The water is heated by the engine, and pumped through the bulkhead and through the heater matrix. The fans then blow over the matrix sending the hot air which dissipates from the matrix fins into the cabin.

If you car was not giving any heat in the cabin, and the engine was overheating, this would suggest to me that there was a blockage somewhere and that the water was not flowing to keep the engine cool, nor was it flowing into the matrix to provide cabin heat.

I may be wrong, but I'm sure one of the geniuses will be along soon

Thing is, I was getting heat in the cabin when the car was overheating... but the water was defo not flowing to keep the engine cool.

How do I check the matrix?

The thing that set this all off was that I was messing on behind the dash, right behind the heater control box... so dont know if I may have knocked something out of place?? But theres like 40 odd wires that come off the heater control box!!
