Every subaru coughing and spluttering.

Please help ..my subaru is coughing and spluttering.
I have a 1997 subura imprezza turbo facelift model.
Every now and then my car starts to cough and splutter but i have not done any mods to it.Drove into work last week and the car was fine but started it up to go home in the evening and it all started.The strange thing is i can go out to it one day and its fine and go out the following day and it splutters??.It Happens when it is hot and cold and just comes and goes when ever it feels like it.The coughing and spluttering seems to be at low revs but when you put it into high revs its fine until they drop back down.But i could park the car up go indoors come back out in 5 mins and it will be fine.Ive lost no oil presure got no leaks no oil in water and have no loss of power...(except well spluttering).Any advise would be a great help ty.

Only had the car a year and have have no idea about the coil pack but leads where changed about 6 months ago with the plugs.

First time i have used this site so im trying to stumble my way through it so let me know if you get this reply.
sorry that was a typo the tittle.
Only had the car a year and have have no idea about the coil pack but leads where changed about 6 months ago with the plugs.
