after having my car mapped on the apexi pfc i would advise the esl daughterboard firstly because of the cost of buying a pfc then getting it mapped ur into 700+ the esl can be bought new fitted and mapped for 550+vat

IMHO. Unless you have had, or are intending to have an uprated rebuild, the the Apexi/SimTek is far more than you will need.
On a 16 year old car, with 16 year old standard internals and gearbox i think your safe limit is around 320/320 possibaly a little more. Which the ESL with supporting mods will be able to give you.
It all depends on your future plans.
