yes just make sure you use all the ancillaries from your old engine and it will run fine.

1998MY should be fine, but 99MY onward will likely cause you a problem Jon. Deck height and pistons are different on the EJ205 and will lead to the wrong compression ratios if you do a mix and match and don't get the details right.

May be able to make it work but you will need to double-check, and make sure you get the gasket thicknesses right, if you want a later bottom engine to run properly on your standard ECU.

Take it that it's going to cost more to repair than replace, RE: your previous thread?
Good luck with it matey, hope you get it all sorted for a good price.

And so it will....to a point.

But how do you know the engine you get is OK?

I've read so many posts on here where THAT little deal ended in tears.

Yes they do unfortuntly spoke to mattybr5 and he gave me some good advice about just changing the rings as the bottom end is not knocking just as long as the bore is ok and adviced me to contact roger clark for the rings and head gaskets so think thats the way i will go for now as xmas is round the corner and save up some money to go forge next year
