Likely poor mixture calculation when going on/off/on the throttle (and hence poorer throttle response), possible accelerated engine wear, less likely (but still possible under certain circumstances) engine damage. Oh, and your car will make a stupid, unnecessary noise every time you lift off the throttle.

You certainly can buy them new from Subaru. I expect the price will be enough to give you a heart attack. eBay or the for sale section here would be the obvious places to look for one.

e-bay mate, be sure you get the right one for your car, you need the model year.

Or ring a few breakers: GradeA are pretty good.

Are you saying that you are having any problems at the momment with the blitz dv fitted,or is the car running ok for the time being .As stated above a dv on a maf based car can cause the symptoms above,so a std one is the way to go. . you might want to have a bid on this ,which will fit straight on:

Default dump valve

hi, theres no problems as such , ie the car is running great, but sometimes when im driving it it just doesent feel as quick or push you back in the seat , as it usually does when driving, for a while i thought i was just imagining it, or since ive only had the car for a month or so , i thought i was just gertting used to the power

could it be possible that on the odd ocasion the blitz valve is leaking boost, and hence not feeling quick as usual.

are the valves any different on wrx or sti's

thanks a lot

The recirc valves are the same whether it is a wrx/sti.
Best thing imho is buy a recirc and try it and see if you notice any difference .I have done this and the only difference i found over the blitz vs recirc was the car was a lot smoother when you were back on the power after lift off. Your blitz dump valve, does it have a 10 mm nut on the top ,if so how many threads are showing when you look at it,as quite a few people tighten this up which in turn just causes more problems

If you do decide to stay with the recirc valve ,then sell your blitz on ebay they go for £70 -£110,and buy(if you have not already got one ), a boost gauge so you can monitor your boost(vacume)

the car is standard other than the valve, so what reason would i need to monitor the boost, could the boost solenoid be leaking some boost off sometimes

If one of the pipes to your boost solenoid is split ,then chances are it would effect the car every time you were on boost not intermittenly as you described earlier. You can clean them with brake cleaner for peace of mind ,but i would check all the pipes first and go from there. Most owners of turbocharged cars fit a boost gauge(std/aftermarket) as this gives you a idea of how much boost (vacume ) your car is pulling under load. It will also let you see what psi/bar your turbo is running at when on boost,so you know your not imagining that the car isn't running right - you can see what boost the car is running on a regular basis, and takes out the guesswork imho..

The nut on top of the blitz normally comes preset from the factory to allow the piston in the dump valve to open and close after you lift off when accelerating. If after prolonged use the spring should start to weaken and you find the car 's idling start to suffer, you can manually adjust the spring slightly. However a few people tighten the spring right up which requires more vacume to open the piston, which sort of defeats the object of letting the excess air vta

"KojaK" has a Blitz on his, and his car is fine. (WRX with a backbox swap.)

Mine was swapped for a Forge VTA when they came onto the market in 2002 (?), strangely I reckon it's the track-time that has worn my engine NOT a DV.

Also doesn't make any noise at all, unless WOT is used !
