Funny idle on 03 sti
As title, i have a funny idle on my standard 03 sti.
If you rev the car either in gear with the clutch dipped or out of gear as the rev needle drops back down it pauses at 1000 rpm then drops to approximatley 800 rpm. the car is always run on optimax and i have had the car for 12 months and not noticed this till recently. Was at subaru on friday as i wanted to make sure it was not the clutch and the guy said the clutch was fine. have also notice when starting the car from cold it seems to rev higher than normal till it warms up. Any suggestions, anyone had something similiar.
thanks

induction kit or standard air box?
if its got the standard air box check the lid is shut properly on it, or the fans will blow warm air into the box and cause an erratic idle.
this happened to me lol.i felt a twit when it was pointed out to me by a mapper!

idle control valve a little lazy. maybe needs a good clean.
its meant to rev higher when its cold. normally about 1200rpm. Im not so sure you have a problem at all. It may just be the ecu holding the revs a little until you come to a stop to stop it stalling aspecially if your running with a load on the alternator or the aircon on
