It needs to be reset, you need a laptop with the correct software on or pop down to your local dealer, put it this way, he wont add another crappy induction kit after they charge him to reset it

You can download suitable software for free - see ECUExplorer or ROMRaider. However you will need to pay for a diagnostic cable. £20 for one guaranteed to work, or you could try getting an OBDII to USB cable on eBay for cheaper and hope it has the right chipset in it. Don't buy anything that mentions the term "ELM" in the listing.

Sorry to the OP for hijacking somewhat, but this may be useful to him/her also. Could someone recommend the best free software for diagnostics please
PS I saw you said ROMRaider and ECU Explorer, Splitpin, but as Harry Hill says, 'which one do you prefer, theres only one way to find out.....'.?

If I'm trying to help someone with a problem on here and they want to try and get some log data I usually suggest ECUExplorer, because it is the simpler of the two to set up and use, and does everything necessary to get relevant info out without any unnecessary bells and whistles, which ROMRaider has more of.
But that said, the functionality of both the above packages is much of a muchness, and thus it doesn't really matter which you choose - which is why I tend to mention them both in the same breath in circumstances like this. If you want simple, use ECUExplorer. If you want more "things" to play with, use the other one.

As Myles has already alluded, I wouldn't have suggested that interface if it didn't work (and this will be confirmed if you scroll to the bottom of the Gendan product page). Just covered the software issue in post above.

Asking which I prefer is a bit of a loaded question as I don't use either personally, written my own stuff that works better (but which, before anyone asks, I have no plans to distribute).
