Default best place for a osf cv joint for a type r v-limted (ver 5)

Hi, I hope someone on here can help?? I need a new osf cv joint for a type r v-limted version 5. I have tried a few places but keep getting told they have either have one for a type r with dccd or one with abs (p1) but mine being a v-limted has both. So if anyone could point me in the right direction would be a massive help!!!!!!!!

Right, you're a bit confused here, and so, by the sound of things, are the suppliers you have tried, although part of the reason they're confused may be because you've inadvertently given them incorrect information.

keep getting told they have either have one for a type r with dccd or one with abs (p1) but mine being a v-limted has both.
No you don't. On a classic Impreza you either have one or the other. If you have a WRX STi Type R verson 5, limited or otherwise, it has DCCD but not ABS.

If you're not sure what model of car you have, go check. However, we will assume you know about your DCCD due to the presence of the thumbwheel next to the handbrake and the fairy lights on the dash. In addition, if your car has intercooler water spray, as an STi should, it definitely doesn't have ABS - as the tank is fitted in the same space that would otherwise be occupied by the ABS pump.

On that basis you can go and buy from whatever supplier has the correct joint in stock.

Although all that said, it shouldn't theoretically make any difference whether a front outboard CV joint is for an "ABS" or a non-ABS car, because on a classic the tone wheels are fitted to the inside of the hub, not on the outside of the joint like a newage.
