WRX Spark plugs?
HI Guys,
can someone please confirm that it is not a big job to change the spark plugs on a 2001 WRX? I went to a garage to book my car in for a service and they said they could nt do it as they would have to drop the engine to change the spark plugs !!!!!!
I know its a little more difficult than changing on a normal car, but c'mon is he having a f**kin laff?
Has anyone changed them themselves and can the novice DIY mechanic do it?

its not a big job ,,, but its awkward !! you have to take the battery off , the washer bottle , the airbox and maf sensor ! then you can get too the plugs . a 12 mm bolt holds the coil packs on ! then you can get to the plug !

Its very much doable as a DIY job...
Bit of an awkward job, iv not done in yet on mine but im planning too...
....far as i know its a case of...
battery, washer bottle, airbox and air scoop need to come off...this will give you room and access to the coil packs, unscrew the bolts and remove coils, then use spark plug socket, appropriate extension and a UJ....

Bunch of ***** that garage, just have to take out washer bottle and air box, its fiddly but done.
I am i novice and have done it many time on mine, about half hour to an hour depending.
Plug to get are NKG platinum not sure on part number, but it has a heat rating of 6 if standard, if modded a heat rating of 7 is needed.
