Subaru Outback Diesel Clutch Fail
Dear All,
For the last week, my subaru outback diesel has started to accelerate very slowly. I have taken it to a local subaru repairer who states I need a new clutch.
The car is only 2 years old and 35000 miles. It appears not to be covered under warranty as I have been told this is 'wear and tear'.
Could anyone advise me if this is reasonable. I was under the impression that clutches on subarus last over 60k. I have other diesel cars including a Nissan and a VW that are heading towards 70k without any clutch problems.
I am also reading on the internet that this car appears to have an inherent fault and requires more than just a new clutch, or the problems will reoccur.
Could someone please offer me some advice.

DIESEL MY10 Forester - I have just had my clutch replaced at 25,000km, parts Dual mass Flywhel, Disk Compl-clutch, Cover CP-clutch, Bearing clutch release, Cost me $3408.25. NOT HAPPY. At present I am searching the Web for similar problems and am taking the replaced parts to a Clutch and Brake place for assessment. I do not ride the clutch as suggested by the mechanic, and I have driven manual cars and 4x4 vehicles and motor bikes for over 40 years and never had a clutch problem before. SUBARU will be hearing from me in the very near future.
