Brake Fluid Amount and Details
I've got a 2000 registration Impreza Turbo 2000, does anyone know how much brake fluid these take? Fitting my new brakes front and rear very soon and need to know how much fluid to buy.
Also the brake fluid and clutch fluid are separate aren't they?
And out of curiousity, if use the same fluid, is DOT 5.1 okay to use with the standard clutch, also in bleeding the brakes do you have to bleed the clutch?
Thanks

going by what my mate said, when he did my fluid change...
youll need 1litre if your changing like for like
or 1.5 litre+ if you want a full change of brand/grade
i ordered 5 x 500ml so i had enough for a full change, and then enough next time it needs doing.
bare in mind if your buying a good quality one, it probably wont be available from local shops, so i would always buy enough, plus once open, brake fluid doesnt really have a shelf life, as it goes funny once left in contact with air.
hope that helps.

1 Litre is usually enough for a complete brake fluid change on the Impreza, always good to have some spare though.
Don't buy based purely on the DOT rating, we run RBF 600 here, not the cheapest but is really good stuff.
Keep us posted on what you think about the brakes Rez, they'll take a good few hundred miles to bed-in properly
