Default 3'' exhausts with 3'' exits?

My wife is complaining a little that my exhaust is a little large! Its a Revolution with a 4 or 4.5'' exit, but has 3'' piping which is why I bought it.

I have tried searching, and the only exhaust I can find for a classic with 3'' tubes and a 3'' exit is a Hayward and Scott.

Am I missing something- is there a real advantage to a larger exit if the pipework is 3''?

I was also wondering if anyone knows of any other exhausts that fit the bill?

you can get a bung that fits inside your 4.5" tail pipe, that makes a load of difference mate, about 15 quid off that ioffer site, it takes a couple of weeks to get here but its a cheap fix

Its not a bung I need- the exhaust isnt that loud- its the size of the can.

On my old Mr2 turbo, I had twin 4.5's, so have two bungs somewhere!

Either go for a 3.5" tail pipe or just tell her to walk round the front instead.

But what else has a 3.5 tailpipe? And yeah, its not the noise which isnt too bad- just the size! To be honest, I wouldnt mind a smaller tailpipe as its more subtle.

That last sentence mustnt be taken out of context

Do you have a powerflow specialist near you? One where I stay that put my cobra system on make custom back boxes where you can choose the size and shape of the exit.

Hope that helps!!

Thats a good plan- I might try and get a smaller end pipe fitted- its 3'' where it comes out of the silencer, then flares to 4

Here is the powerflow dealer locator site:

http://www.powerflowexhausts.co.uk/dealer-locator/

The one near me was going to do back box fitted for around £180 but I just bought a whole system off my mate for £250.

, my thoughts exactly, how often do you look at the back of the car,if it's not mega noisy then happy days , but if you do want something smaller as said above powerflo have a good selection of tailpipes from slash cut to rolled edges in varying sizes which they can mate to your existing backbox
