HELP!!! loss of boost in 5th gear only
hi all
just had a re-build and a re-map but twice now when im giving it some stick through the gears when i get into 5th i seem to loose all boost?
it is not like hitting a wall like fuel cut but like hitting a rev limiter!!
just wondered what it could be
a calapse of a hose ( as would not to be able to find as it only does it in 5th ) or a faulty solinoid as it does tick when it is on full boost!
any info or ideas would be very apreciated

When you say " all boost" have you got a boost gauge and is it dropping to 0.5 bar approx?
If so it could be the ECU lowering the boost due excessive knock correction.
In which case I'd take it back to who mapped it and explain..

As you rag it up through the gears you basically get things hotter than they should so the ECU starts to pull the reigns in to save itself, first it pulls ignition timing out, if that doesn't work it takes the boost away.
So yes, 5th gear is a lot more stressful for the engine in that respect
