Default First engine mods.

Hi guys,

I'm looking to start doing some engine bits on my 2002 UK WRX. Nothing major, just a few bits.

Firstly, I dont really want to replace the DV as I dont really want the 'ptttssh' noise, but several people have said that if I get an induction kit, I should get a good roarty sucking noise and some wastegate 'chatter'. Is this correct? If not, whats the best way to acheive that kind of noise?

Secondly, I'm thinking of the Scoobyworld Ninja back box and centre section. Has anyone else got this? How do you rate it? I dont want anything crazy loud, but want the burble to be more distinctive and something louder than standard.

Any help appreciated!

Induction kit should do that for you as a start. That said, in my opinion there is no real need for one until you head past 350bhp, neither is a DV, so it's money not that well spend. Zorst + remap is where I would save up to start. Or save to chop the WRX in for a STi which has far more potential in the long run. My 2c

A nice panel filter would do nice, a lot of people have complained (my friend included) that the MAF sensor is prone to breaking if you use a induction kit.

Recently did the following to my 2.5. Ninja 2 back box and afterburner center section, sounds good and not too noisy on motorways. K&N Panel filter and a re-map by Fiestaboy. Very happy with the results.

Std airbox is fine.
Ninja = nice burble without bleeding ears.
Remap is a good place to go.

Green panel filter
Decat from down pipe back ( retain first Cat and will still pass MOT and bearable noise)
Walbro 255 fuel pump, easy self mod
Remap after above should see 270-280BHP with nice pull from 3000rpm
