knock sensor help??????

Default knock sensor help??????

hi i have a subaru impreza turbo year 2000, i am having an issue with the knock sensor a week ago i read the ecu and it came up with code 22 knock sensor so off i went and bought a new one took old one out and put new one in torqued up to 21nm and went for test drive and erased codes. on the run car still hesertated on acceleration and then cel light come on again got home read codes again still 22. so did some research and read a post that said the maf can give false 22 code so took the maf out cleaned it and then out i went again reset codes and everything was great now a week late having the problem again but now codes are saying 22 , 23 could this just be the maf sensor gone totally bad any help its driving me mad:brickw all

Cant really clean the maf's. Yeah sounds like it has given up. I had this, though it was knock sensor as code came up for it, changed it then maf code came up so changed that all was fine. then about year later the maf went again, thought the engine had gone.
on these cars they are like chocolate.

thanks for that i am really hoping it the maf orded one now just got to wait it just seems that you change one thing then something else decides to give up i think my chocolate is melting lol!!

You running an induction kit? And/or a VTA dumpvalve? Both can cause MAF problems.

Especially on that model year.
