And you've fitted this to what, a WRX import with no other mods, or a UK STi thats modded to 500 brake.

Sorry to ask, it's just that my crystal ball is off the road at the moment.

What makes you think you will lose that much power by changing the blitz backbox ? The blitz is one one of the loudest systems you can buy for a subaru, but that does not make it the best flowing ,in fact you might actually find you might gain a few bhp with your new backbox

a thought it would be the best flowing ? thought more noise would mean less restriction ? tho also heard sometimes having a little back pressure can make the car spool up better ? a know its the loudest

A back box change does not warrant a remap.
When buying an exhaust it is best to buy a complete proven system as there is quite a lot of variation between a good exhaust and an average exhaust. While I have no difinitive figures it appears that some of the loudest exhausts are also some of the poorer performers.

thanks for the reply as i said car was mapped when i got it with a prodrive system also modded headers full decat , then i fitted a blitz nur spec r (centre section+backbox) decided was abit loud, got a custom 3" backbox made to make it quiter, car needs a remap due to problems with the map so wondered if i would get a little more power if the blitz backbox was refitted and i put up with the noize lol hope that makes sence or should i just leave the custom 3" exhaust on, might be my imagination but think it runs better with the custom 1 fitted
